AUSDBF announced on Thursday that the Club Jervis Bay-sponsored Mako Paddle Club has officially qualified to compete at the 15th IDBF Club Crew World Championships, which will take place at the stunning Liyu Lake in Hualien County, Taiwan, from 5 to 10 September 2026.
Following a strong performance and competitive season, AusDBF has confirmed Mako’s qualification in the following classes:
- Premier Women – Standard Boat (20’s)
- Senior A Mixed – Small Boat (10’s)

This marks an incredible achievement for the club and a testament to the hard work, dedication, and teamwork of all our paddlers, coaches, and support crew.
In addition, Mako Paddle Club is on standby for the Premier Open 10’s category. Should either of the first two qualifiers decline their invitation in this division, Mako will be extended the opportunity.
This achievement culminates the club’s remarkable journey, highlighted by unforgettable performances at the 2025 Dragon Boat AusChamps. At AusChamps, Mako didn’t just race—they made an impact.
“This qualification is more than just a ticket to Taiwan—it’s a celebration of everything we’ve built as a team. The sweat, the setbacks, the breakthroughs—every moment led us here. We’re ready to show the world what Mako is made of.”
Chicki, Mako Coach
The club’s spirit shone through in every race and cheer from the grandstand, echoing with “Mako! Mako!” chants that lifted the event’s energy. From chaos to camaraderie and challenge to courage, Mako stood tall.
With fierce racing, powerful unity, and a signature roar, Mako Paddle Club is ready to take on the world. Taiwan, here we come.
