For the month of June, Team Mako challenged themselves to complete 3,249 push-ups each, representing the number of lives lost to suicide in Australia in 2022. Our particular charity was Lifeline. Lifeline’s existence means that no one has to go through their darkest hours alone, and Mako like that very much indeed.
Dragonboating on Jervis Bay with Mako and the knucklehead gang of members gives us joy and helps our mental health no end. We are lucky to be sponsored by Club Jervis Bay, which does a lot for the local community. It was time to represent them and do our bit too.
So with aching muscles and trembling arms, we took to floors, mountains, furniture, cameoed our pets, and most of all, we leaned on each other and pushed hard for mental health.
Result? Team Mako punched over 40,000 pushups and raised nearly $3000 for Lifeline. Check out some the innovative places we have been spreading the #makomojo across the Shoalhaven.
