This June, a feisty 10’s crew from the Club Jervis Bay sponsored Mako Paddle Club took on The Push-Up Challenge to help #pushforbetter mental health outcomes across Australia. Over 23 days, from June 4 to 26, 2025, our team stepped up and dug deep, completing an incredible 26,539 push-ups and raising $1,535 to support Lifeline.
The Mako Challenge wasn’t just about flexing muscles—it was about standing up for Australians doing it tough. Every dollar raised helps Lifeline ensure no person has to face their darkest moments alone. Currently, Lifeline’s crisis support services are receiving up to 4,000 calls and texts every day from individuals struggling with rising costs, housing insecurity, and the pressures of modern life.
Through this challenge, we aimed to send a clear message: Connection saves lives. Whether it was cheering each other on, sharing stories, or racking up those final reps, our team came together to show what community support can look like in action.
We’d like to thank everyone who donated, encouraged, or joined the fun. Your generosity is helping Lifeline continue their 24/7 crisis services—listening without judgment and offering hope to anyone who needs it.
Missed out but still want to help? You can make a tax-deductible donation or sign up to join next year’s Push-Up Challenge. Every push-up and every dollar makes a difference.
From all of us at Mako Paddle Club:
Thank you for helping us push for better mental health—and for proving that together, we’re stronger.
