While not the most exciting page on this site, the Admin resources below will provide you with all the info you need as a member. As a member of AUSDBF and DBNSW, you will most likely be directed to external resources to find the answers to your paddling questions.
Governance
Mako is a member of Dragon Boats NSW (DBNSW), affiliated with the Australian Dragon Boat Federation (AusDBF), and operates in accordance with its Policies, including the National Integrity Framework.
In joining DBNSW and Mako, members agree to comply with the Constitution, regulations, policies, and directions of AUSDBF, DBNSW and Mako Paddle Club.
Health & Fitness to Paddle
Did you know? Each season, when you renew your DBNSW and Mako membership, you are making a declaration – that you are fit to participate in dragon boating. While we tick the box to register our membership, we don’t always adopt that responsibility when we are training and racing.
At Mako, we want to build on that idea with a simple reminder: taking care of yourself is one of the best ways to look after your team. Honesty really is the best policy.
Annual Health Check
AUSDBF encourages paddlers, regardless of age, fitness, and experience, to undergo an annual Health check. The aim is to detect any developing medical issue that could lead to a serious outcome during competition, training, or volunteering if left untreated.
The Annual Health Check and communicating any issues to your coach or captain are a member’s responsibility.
Guidance and medical questionnaire available at:
Equipment
The club relies heavily on our boats and equipment. If you notice anything that needs attention, please speak up, and we’ll address it.
Sweeping
Mako’s approach is to grow the club’s pool of sweeps while building the competencies required to operate on JB’s waterways.
Uniforms
Mako offers a range of racing and off-water clothing. If you have a question, you can Email Mako Uniforms. Once you are a paid member, you can also visit the online Mako Uniform Shop.
