Yep, you read it correctly. Mako is in celebration mode this week with eight members selected to represent Australia at the 16th IDBF World Dragon Boat Racing Championships at Rayong – Pattaya, Thailand 7th-13th August 2023. The selections were finalised after the completion of body and mind-bending Auroras selection camps.
Mako has once again punched well above its weight and will see our members represent Australia across four categories. “To say this is an incredible achievement is still an understatement. Our little baby coastal club of knuckleheads has only been paddling for 3 years. Everyone rookies. And yet 8 Mighty Mako have managed to slog it out to be selected to represent Australia in the 2023 Auroras Campaign.” said exuberant Mako coach Chicki.
Our newest international representatives are U24: Jack Stratton; Prems: Ryan A. Brown; Senior A: Andrew Glasson; Senior B: Angie Jenkins, Cath Louise, Valerie Baker, Jacquie Smith and Chicki (Coach).
With so much #makomojo in the Auroras campaign, it’s sure to be a wild ride to Thailand and back.
